The Inland Burnett is a fantastic place to live and raise a family. There are always heaps of opportunities to get involved in activities, sporting groups, and health programs. Here are just some of the groups providing fantastic, healthy services in our region:

Always looking for something healthy to eat when you’re on the run, but never know where to find it? The team at RHealth have come up with a fantastic new program called “Good Food Choices” and all you have to do is look for the logo (at right) next time you’re choosing your lunch or dinner in Kingaroy. The program aims to increase the consumption of healthy food outside the home and also to provide incentives to food businesses to make healthy choices available for customers. So far twelve venues have been accredited and 73 dishes given the tick of approval, with more on the way! And its hoped the program will extend to other towns in the South Burnett. Accredited meals must be low in fat (or a source of healthy fats), have at least one serve of vegetables, be a good source of fibre, low in salt and low in added sugar. If you’d like more information, contact Berneice Hilly at RHealth on 4162 5230. For a full list of accredited outlets and for more info on how the program is progressing, see the latest "Good Food Choices" newsletter.
