If your farm or business has sustained damage during the floods, you are eligible to receive assistance from the BIEDO Business Pilots. Pilots work one-on-one with business owners as a mentor, to provide information, referrals or expertise. They can help clients explore their ideas, suggest methods to overcome obstacles and develop new opportunities. The services provided by the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation are funded by the Australian Government. For further information, please contact the BIEDO Office on 4169 7851.
Special disaster flood assistance grants of up to $25 000 are available to help Queensland primary producers who have been affected by the November 2010 -January 2011 floods. Grants are available from QRAA to assist you to pay for costs arising out of direct damage caused by the flood crisis (not for loss of income).
If you need help with your grant applications, BIEDO's Grant Angels can help. Call 4169 7851. For detailed information on grants and subsidies, please see our page on Financial Support for those affected by the flood crisis.
The 'Join Forces' website www.qldreconstruction.org.au/joining-forces connects flood and cyclone-affected sporting clubs, community groups and other not-for-profits with corporate and private sponsors who can help them with the huge task of rebuilding and getting their club or group up and running again. Many people would be involved in these community groups, either through your family's participation on the weekend or direct involvement in running your local club or organisation.
