BIEDO is governed by an independent Board consisting of Inland Burnett representatives from Local Government, business and community groups. Elected to lead BIEDO through 11/12 are:
Chairman - Cr David Carter (Mayor, South Burnett Regional Council)
David is from Gympie, and is a qualified Diesel Fitter and primary producer. His career in Local Government has spanned 15 years, being first elected to the Wondai Shire Council in 1994. He is proud to have been elected as the first Mayor of the South Burnett Regional Council following amalgamation in March 2008. Projects of particular interest include technology, rural issues, healthy communities and community transport infrastructure.
Vice-Chairman - Cr Paul Francis (Councillor, North Burnett Regional Council)
Paul has farmed in the n the Moonford area (near Monto) for 30 years. He has been a Councillor for 13 years (with the former Monto Shire and currently the North Burnett Regional Council). He takes a keen interest in all matters affecting both the region and industry as a whole and has been involved with BIEDO for 6 years. In addition Paul is heavily involved in the community through organisations such as Rotary, Agforce, Droughtmaster Breeders, and the Australian Stock Horse Society.
Secretary - Andrew Bryant (Lifeline Fraser Coast, based in Gayndah)
Andrew is based in Gayndah and was the Lifeline Youth Support Coordinator for the North Burnett from 2005. He is now the Lifeline Site Manager for Gayndah and Eidsvold. He has a Bachelor of Social Science and is passionate about being part of positive change in communities.
Treasurer - Penny Kennedy (Murgon business owner and primary producer from Booubyjan)
Penny is an accredited professional life coach and runs her own business, Greener Pastures Life Coaching. She is also involved in her family's cattle property, 'Cloyne' at Booubyjan (Central Burnett) and runs a main street business in Murgon.
