BIEDO’s Charter:

 

BIEDO promotes a confident, capable, future-focused Inland. We:

 

  • strengthen industries & businesses, including primary production,

  • build community leadership & innovation,

  • create region-wide project partnerships,

  • stimulate proactive problem solving,

  • address service & infrastructure gaps – via partnerships, programmes or lobbying.

Regional Services:

 

  1. Rural Industry Innovation

  2. Rural Microbusiness Development

  3. Regional Business Development

  4. Drought Business Services

  5. Rural Community Renewal

  6. Eco-projects (green innovations in technology, industry, water and waste management, construction, fuel and energy

  1. Rural Workplace Re-entry Training and Capacity Building for isolated communities, primary producers and service shortfall areas such as trades

  2. Problem Solving and Innovation - re: service and infrastructure shortfalls

  3. Regional Coordination and Project Management (inter-shire projects, advocacy, lobbying, regional marketing, planning)

  4. Research and Development (for local/sub-regional issues, such as depression and suicide management)

  5. Secretariat and Project and Support for Regional Advisory Networks and Working Groups (such as the Community Renewal Committee for the North Burnett and the Bio Fuels Committee)

 

 

 

All community groups, small businesses and companies can access BIEDO services where a Shire Council is a Full Member.

Members are entitled to access the following services at the rate of discount listed in our Membership Pricing

 

1.        IT Services:

·         Web site building,

·         Hosting an events web page,

·         Technical support (basic – eg: loading software, setting up a laptop, hooking up printers)

·         Using MYOB, email & Internet – individual & small group/enterprise training,

·         Online Professional Library,

·         Online Services Directories,

·         Online Marketplace, 

 

2.        Fund Access Services (fund writing, editing, proof reading, fund search)

3.        “Heads Up” (a monthly alert re: funding & sponsorship opportunities)

4.        ‘Flashpoints”  (the regional BIEDO online newsletter),

5.        Community Capacity Building (skills building workshops for community groups
